The olive leaf was first used medicinally in Ancient Egypt where it was thought to be by the Egyptians a symbol of “heavenly power” and has been used ever since. Olive leaves were also mentioned multiple times in the bible where it is referred to as “The Tree of Life”. Olive leaf extract has been used in the human diet as an extract, an herbal tea, and a powder for millennia. Olive leaf extract comes from the dark green leaves of the Olive tree (Olea europaea) and contains the active compounds Oleuropein, hydroxytyrosol, luteolin, apigenin, rutin, catechin, caffeic acid and elenolic acid.

Scientific studies have shown that Olive leaf extract poseses a multitude of therapeutic properties which makes it so beneficial for such a variety of issues.

Dosages

Take 5ml (1 teaspoonful) 2 to 3 times a day with food. Take up to 15ml daily. If you find the extracts bitter-sweet flavour too strong, simply dilute it with fruit juice or wash it down with purified water. Due to their smaller size, children (over two years) can take 2.5ml (half teaspoon) two to three times per day with food or juice.

It is not recommended to take the extract on an empty stomach as it may cause nausea, so take with or after meals.

It is not advisable to take olive leaf extract when pregnant, breast-feeding or if suffering from hypo-tension. (Low blood pressure)

Our qualified Herbalist uses only our own zero ppm quad filtered distilled water, all equipment used is stainless steel and our herbal extracts are bottled into steam sterilised UV resistant pharmaceutical grade glass bottles, which obviates the need to use preservatives of any kind. Take care not to touch the inside of the neck of bottle or lid against anything or return decanted herbal extracts.
